Import Project
The Import Project panel lets the user reuse an existing project as a starting point for a new one. Instead of building a project from scratch, an existing configuration — form questions, template, folder settings — can be imported into the current environment and adapted.
How to open it
From the Projects Workflow panel, select a project and open the Workflow section. Click Import form to open the import panel.
What can be imported
- An existing Google Form — the form’s questions are imported into the project, ready to be reviewed and adapted
- A Google Docs template — an existing document can be linked as the template, with the Auto-fill from questions option to map placeholders automatically
Typical use cases
- Reusing a form built for a previous year or season as the basis for a new edition
- Migrating an existing Google Form not originally created with Doc Regia into a managed project
- Standardising the same form across multiple projects (e.g. several departments using a common intake form)

💡 Tip: Import is the fastest way to clone an existing project. Combined with the Reset toggle on the Projects Workflow panel, it allows running the same form year after year while keeping past responses cleanly separated.
Import existing responses
By enabling the Import existing responses option, Doc Regia copies all previously collected data from the original form into the new response sheet. Responses are transferred in full: text, multiple choice, grids, and quiz scores.
⚠️ Important note: Imported responses are visible in the project’s Google Sheets spreadsheet, but do not appear in the Google Form’s “Responses” tab. This is a limitation of the Google Forms API, which does not allow responses to be submitted to a form programmatically. Quiz scores are reconstructed by Doc Regia in the original format (e.g. 7 / 21), but as a text value — not as a native Google score. New responses collected after the import work normally in both panels.
